"The Simple Things" (released on April 18, 1953) is a Technicolor animated
short film produced by Walt Disney Productions and directed by Charles Nichols. Music was by Paul Smith with supporting cast voice actors of Pinto Colvig and June Foray. This was the last cartoon to feature Jimmy MacDonald as the voice of Mickey Mouse. This was also last Mickey Mouse cartoon short film, and Mickey did not star in a feature film for 30 years, until the release of "Mickey's Christmas Carol" in 1983.
The story of "The Simple Things" is that Mickey Mouse and his dog Pluto go fishing. Pluto has a run-in with a clam, that eventually lodges in poor Pluto's mouth. Mickey thinks the clam is Pluto's tongue and can't understand why his dog keeps begging for more food! After they are able to get rid of the clam, Mickey attempts to use minnows as fish bait; but his plan it thwarted by a very hungry seagull. Soon other seagulls arrive, chasing away poor Mickey and Pluto.
Framed original production animation cel of Mickey Mouse .
This is a great original production cel of Mickey Mouse from the Disney short "The Simple Things," 1953. He is full figure, eyes open, and smiling while fishing with his rod and reel; while sitting on a rock. A wonderful image of Mickey Mouse enjoying a relaxing day from the last Mickey Mouse cartoon short film. The artwork is already framed and would be a wonderful addition to any animation art collection!
