"Mickey's Service Station," 1935 is an animated short film produced by Walt Disney Productions and released by United Artists. The film, which stars Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy as car mechanics, is notable as the first to feature the three characters together as a comedy trio. The film was also the final black-and-white appearance of Donald, Goofy, and Peg-Leg Pete. The short was directed by Ben Sharpsteen, who at the time had only directed Silly Symphony shorts, and starred the classic voices of Walt Disney (Mickey Mouse), Clarence Nash (Donald Duck), Pinto Colvig (Goofy), and Billy Bletcher (Peg-Leg Pete).

The story of "Mickey's Service Station" is that Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy are working on a broken car at a service station. Soon Peg-Leg Pete comes by in his sporty automobile, and angrily demands that they fix a squeak located somewhere in the car. He tells them that if they don't get the job done in ten minutes, they'll have their heads cut off. As Pete leaves the area, the three attendants try desperately to find and repair the squeak. There are a large number of comic gags that take place as Micky, Donald, and Goofy all try to locate the piece of the car causing the problem.

Finally Mickey is able to squeeze a tire and pop out what was making the noise: a grasshopper. The trio smash several pieces of the car with hammers before Mickey is able to drive away the grasshopper. They then get to the job of repairing the car, noticing that their ten minutes are almost up. Again, there are a large number of wonderful comedic gags and scenarios that occur as the three attendants try to quickly put the car back together. Soon Peg-Leg Pete arrives, and he pushes Mickey aside and gets into the car. But due to the team's inadequate repair work, the car won't start. Donald, Goofy, and Mickey slowly tiptoe away while Peg-Leg Pete is distracted trying to get the car to start. Then suddenly the car begins to fall to pieces and Mickey, Donald, and Goofy watch as the car dismantles itself until only the running engine is remaining. The engine moves forward on four "legs" and chases Pete away, hitting and banging into him the whole time.

This is a wonderful and highly detailed drawing from one of the last black-and-white great Walt Disney cartoons. This is a very nice and large (7 1/2" x 11 1/4") drawing on a full sheet of peg hole animation paper from 1935. The drawing includes a full figure and eyes open drawing of Peg-Leg Pete and his out of control car engine, that is bellowing smoke and chasing after him. The drawing is rendered in graphite, red, green, yellow, and blue pencils on peg hole animation paper.
